Kowloon City

Residents

residents are not being removed to Ya Chien Wei but to

prepared site at Kak Hang within town planning area about

mile from Kowloon City. I inspected both places

personally yesterday and cannot cancel or suspend orders

which are dictated on sanitary principles.

agreed to move and compensation enables them to build houses

on new site where foundations are already being laid. Nobody is holding out and $2,000 already paid in first instalments of compensation: further instalments will be

paid as building progresses.

New site admirable and

conveniently situated. Evacuated Kowloon City area will

be converted into public park.
